For sure, the NFT space is wild and there are always some celebrities who can’t get enough of it. It’s also fair to say NFTs have evolved into a medium for connecting with fans, expanding the reach and ultimately promoting a technology that has the potential to become mainstream in the coming years. That’s why we see a lot of celebrity NFT projects launched or endorsed every now and then.
If you are wondering who these celebrities are that are actively involved in the NFT space, we’ve rounded up a few of the major celebrities riding the NFT wave with their celebrity NFT projects.
1. Snoop Dogg
The very first celeb that comes to everyone’s mind is Snoop Dogg. If you’re wondering why, the answer is pretty straight-forward and simple. Snoop is always willing to take on a challenge. Snoop has ventured far into the NFT world, joining forces with a number of NFT initiatives as well as operating under his Ethereum whale moniker, Cozomo de’ Medici.
Snoop Dogg released his debut NFT collection, “A Journey with the Dogg”, in late March 2021. After its success, he launched “Young Snoop” with the original NFT tune. He also launched “Snoop Doge Coins,” “Diamond Joint,” and “Deez Nuts.”
While getting high on the NFT boom, he brought in other celebrity friends like Eminem, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Wiz Khalifa, and many more, to share the joint and launch mixed tape NFTs with them.
The Doggfather didn’t just stop at NFTs, rather went on to metaverse adventures. Snoop joined the Sandbox to launch his very own ‘Snoopverse’, Snoop avatars “The Doogies” and NFT passes.
Snoop Dogg has a lot of NFT projects under his hood, and that is why he is at the top of our list of Celebrity NFTs.
2. Paris Hilton
Another prominent celebrity that steals the show in the NFT space whenever she appears is none other than Paris Hilton. She has long been a fan of crypto and has secretly launched her first NFT in August 2020, auctioning a drawing of her pet ‘kitty’ on the NFT site Cryptograph and donating the earnings to charity.
Since then, the socialite has released official NFTs with artist Blake Kathryn, which have sold for nearly US $1.1 million. Paris Hilton has also launched Hummingbird in My Metaverse, Legend of Love, Forever Fairytale, and many more.
Paris Hilton’s recent NFT project surprised the NFT community, as she worked with the enigmatic digital artist PAK. She was part of PAK’s carbon drop along with many other artists.
If all this was not enough, the OG crypto queen entered the metaverse in collaboration with 11:11 Media and the Sandbox.
“That’s Hot” is what everyone will be saying when Paris Hilton launches another one of her celebrity NFT projects.
3. Johnny Depp
American actor and musician Johnny Depp isn’t lagging in the NFT race for all the right reasons. He marked his entry into the NFT space with his own NFT collection, “Never Fear Truth”, which features collections of his friends and heroes in the artworks from his personal creation.
The collection of 11,111 NFTs includes Johnny Depp’s portraits of his friends and heroes including Marlon Brando, Hunter S. Thompson, Elizabeth Taylor, Lily-Rose Depp, Tim Burton, Depp’s late dog Mooh, Depp himself, and a fictional character created by his son, called Bunnyman. The 25% proceeds of Johnny Depp’s NFT project were donated to charities.
No one can predict Captain Jack’s next move, so let’s wait and watch what he brings from his next voyage in the NFT sea.
4. Madonna
The queen of pop leaned into the NFT world with a year-long collaboration with the visionary NFT artist Beeple. Together they launched ‘Mother of Creation’ for charity to help support women and children around the world.
“Mother of Creation” is a series of three digitally created videos in which she is portrayed as a nude woman giving birth to flora, fauna, and technology. Each video was accompanied by poetry, some written by Madonna and others by Rumi, the mystic poet.
The triptych ends with the message “that you never know where you are going to find life, and you can never give up hope.” So let’s believe that we will celebrate a new NFT project from the pop queen preferably in 2023.
5. Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson boxed into the NFT ring with Binance CEO CZ. The Binance NFT exchange dropped Mike Tyson’s Mystery Box NFT collection. Tyson’s second round of the NFT ring was tagged by ExPoplus.
The “Baddest Man on the Planet” partnered with Animoca-backed web3 video game studio Ex Populus to launch the Iron Pigeons NFTs. The Iron Pigeons NFT collection is a playable trading card set built on the Solana network. The Final Form metaverse game is currently under development and will be available soon.
Let’s hope to see a new celebrity NFT project from Iron Mike, when the bell rings next year.
6. Steve Aoki:
In early March, the Grammy-nominated EDM DJ Steve Aoki released the Dream Catcher NFT collection on NiftyGateway, a collaboration with artist Antoni Tudisco that grossed US$4.29 million. Aoki went on ahead to drop multiple NFTs.
In his own words, Aoki has earned more money from NFT royalties than from music. And why wouldn’t he? With more than 11 collections on NiftyGateway with various collaborations, on top of that he has worked with deadfellas for NFT merchs, digible team for Michael jordan NFTs and many more, money should be raining down on him.
Steve also has his very own a0k1verse, a new ecosystem bridging the metaverse with the real world. In a0k1verse fans can see all of his NFT artworks and get updates on his upcoming NFT projects.
Steve Aoki and Snoop Dogg came together for the first-ever virtual music video produced in The Sandbox metaverse for the track “House I Built”.
7. Anthony Hopkins:
Ending the Celebrity NFT list with Anthony Hopkins because he is the most recent celebrity to drop an NFT collection. Before entering into the NFT realm, Anthony Hopkins also asked other celebrity NFT owners for advice.
Anthony Hopkins quotes “As an artist, it’s been terrific discovering NFTs as the new canvas” when he revealed his NFT project “ The Eternal Collection” to the world.
The Eternal Collection conceptualizes an interpretation of the vast character archetypes Sir Anthony Hopkins has portrayed over his illustrious film career, drawing its potent energy from his stimulating body of art.
Through a series of thought-provoking images and animations, this celebrity NFT collection immortalizes Sir Anthony Hopkins’ diverse archetypal interpretations of The Eternal: The Jester, The Lover, The Rebel, The Hero, et al.
Fingers are crossed for what more this old man is going to drop on us.
